Responsibilities include managing our farmers market booth and bouquet bar at the Lexington Farmers Market on Southland Drive in Lexington, KY from April to October

START DATE: First week of April. Position ends the last week of October. This is a part-time position that requires work 1 day per week. We will likely have some on farm and additional farmers market opportunities throughout the season depending on your preferences, but Sunday availability is required.

This position will require you to pickup flowers and market supplies at our farm in Richmond (560 Charles White Rd.) before the farmers market setup time begins at 9:00 AM . You must have your own transportation to get to the farm, but we will provide a vehicle for you to use to transport to market. Our farm is about 35-40 minutes from Lexington via the Valley View Ferry and i-75. We are about 30 minutes from downtown RIchmond.

HOURS: Sundays from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Additional hours may be available. Must arrive to the farm at 7:45 AM to make it to the market on time for setup. Will be required to work Sundays

PAY and BENEFITS: Commensurate with experience. Pay starts at $15/ hour

Requirements and duties include the following:

• Must be willing to work the fast-paced environment of the farmers market. This includes stocking flowers, managing a bouquet bar, checking out customers, and providing excellent customer service

• Must be willing to learn to operate a checkout system (Square) and handle cash/ provide change

• Must be willing to set up the market booth independently. This includes setting up tents, tables, signage and loading/ unloading the booth by yourself

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds

• Must be willing to work in outdoor conditions of heat, cold, and inclement weather for 4+ hours

• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy meeting new people. Community is the heart of our farm, and we want folks on are team that are excited to build relationships with our customers

• Must be willing to perform other duties as needed.

• Must be able to work effectively with other staff members and other market vendors

• Floral design skills are optional, but a big plus! We would love to have someone that can build retail bouquets at the market and advise customers while they make their own bouquets
